Message from Dean,2020

Yamagata University

Our campus is located in the city of Tsuruoka, the northern part of Japan, around 1 hour by airplane or 4 hours by train from Tokyo. Tsuruoka is registered as UNESCO creative city of gastronomy and has various vegetables and fruits endemic to the region only.
We have 3 courses, Agri-Science, Bio-Science and Eco-Science, that cover extensive research fields. They include Plant production and environmental agriculture, Agricultural chemistry, Forest and forest products science, Agricultural science in society and economy, Agro-engineering, and Animal life science.
In our faculty, foreign students are almost 10 % of all students including master and PhD course, and international activities are important for us. Now we have concluded agreements for international exchange with 21 universities and 32 departments in the world.
We all are looking forward to seeing you in our university.
